What we Believe
St. Paul's Episcopal Sacramento

It doesn’t matter what you do or don’t believe; you are welcome at St. Paul's Church on Sunday morning and for all church activities. We are a safe and respectful community, and we will support you on your personal faith journey.

We believe God is love, God loves us, and God wants us to love. We hold  Jesus’ teaching known as “the Summary of the Law” (Matthew 22:37-40) as a primary belief:

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

We believe that faithful living means coming to a deeper understanding of God, to embrace these two commandments, and to live our lives according to them.
