Rev. Rik Retires

The Rev. Rik Rasmussen retired as St. Paul's rector on January 11 during a beautiful Epiphany worship service, where those gathered remembered their Baptisms and celebrated the Eucharist. In his farewell sermon, Rev. Rik sent the congregation forth:

"As I complete my tenure as your rector, I pray that you will hear God's reassurance that you all are, indeed, beloved children of God, and that you will strive to continue to be God's hands, heart and feet in downtown Sacramento…and welcome ALL to God's table."

A brief Ending of a Pastoral Relationship service was led by the Senior Warden, Doug Clay, following the Blessing. The congregation celebrated Rev. Rik's tenure with a potluck lunch and cake following the worship service.
