One November morning, Amanda and Nate and others in the Sack Lunch ministry asked some of the unhoused guests who were gathered what items they might need.

The answers were illuminating.

While clothing is generally available at assistance locations throughout the city, some items are especially welcome:

  • Boots
  • Knit caps
  • Scarves
  • Leather gloves

Also:

  • Sleeping bags (especially those that are durable and compact, and that have straps or cords that keep them bundled)
  • Tarps
  • Blankets
  • Tents (especially those that are waterproof, soft, durable; breathable, and windproof
  • Latex gloves
  • Phone chargers (plug ins and cords)
  • Large size emergency blankets (large enough for two people)
  • Large first aid kits (160-170 pieces)

As a result of this information from our neighbors, St. Paul's now has a Care Closet in the Parish Hall.

Come help Saturdays from 11 am - 1 pm!

You may also donate items for the Care Closet through this Amazon wish list: https://tinyurl.com/STPLCC

Thank you.
