After Rev. Rik Rasmussen's retirement in January, St. Paul's entered into an interim period. Our Vestry joined the Diocese of Nothern California's new Curacy Pilot Program, which will pair a larger, sponsoring congregation with a smaller partner congregation to share a curate (newly ordained) or assistant priest (ordained in the last 5 years) over a three-year commitment. Applications are currently being considered for three Curate positions to begin July 1.
In the meantime, St. Paul's Associate Priest, the Rev. Anne Slakey, preaches and celebrates on the first and third Sundays of the month. Visiting clergy are scheduled on the remaining Sundays through the interim period until a permanent clergy appointment is made.

Music, beauty, reflection, prayer and fellowship in our historic church building.
We acknowledge these communities, their elders both past and present, as well as future generations. St. Paul's Sacramento also acknowledges that it was founded upon exclusions and erasures of many Indigenous peoples, including those on whose land this church was founded. With God's help, we commit ourselves to acknowledging the truth of California's history, as well as strengthening existing relationships and improving our efforts to build collaborative relationships with Native peoples.
